West Englewood women's shelter heat restored, but...

In the Chicago Tribune, Deanese Williams-Harris reported:

The heat has been restored at an Englewood women's shelter after donations poured in to cover a $21,000 bill, but Clare's Place still needs help to continue servicing its residents, the shelter's director said this afternoon.

The heat was turned back on Friday evening after a week of no gas at the shelter due to a long overdue bill. The women and children who live at the 13-unit building were using extra blankets and pots of boiled water on the stoves to keep warm.
